Step 4: Perform Due Diligence
The Home Inspection
Though you may have found your perfect home, it’s now time to step back and let reason override your emotions. This is not to say you haven’t actually found your perfect home, but we just want to make sure that you perform due diligence and make sure that the wrapper isn’t hiding any unexpected presents underneath. Time to get a home inspection.
In order to make sure the wrapper matches the present inside, we need to order and attend a home inspection. Let a professional inspect the property and check for things that may result in structural damage, such as:
- Water damage
- Shifting ground
- Poor construction
“It’s the inspector’s job to mark everything discovered,
no matter how large or small.”
Putting your family home into the hands of a home inspector covers you in the long run as you invest in making sure that your residence is built for the long-term.
